Building Relationships, Making Disciples,  Winning the Lost

Zoe’s three weekly sessions are designed to empower you to pursue the God kind of life.

It has been our experience that people need three types of exposures to the presence of Almighty God within a weekly cycle.

“And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people.” Matt 4:23-24

INSPIRATION

And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, PREACHING the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people. Matt 4:23-24

And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, 5 that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God. 1 Cor 2:4-5 NKJV

We are a supernatural church. We believe God is a supernatural God; he’s the same yesterday today and forever. God will “show himself alive by many infallible proofs” in your life at the time that you need Him.  It is because of this belief that we create an atmosphere of expectancy on Sunday Morning! Here is a verse that you will see in action at Zoe City Church.

While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word. Acts 10:44-45  NKJV

At Zoe City we are not interested in man’s ideas or philosophy; we want to hear from Heaven! What does the Spirit of God have to say to the church! Come with expectancy and see the Lord our God show up and show out!

“that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God”.

1 Cor 2:5 NKJV

INFORMATION

“And Jesus went about all Galilee, TEACHING their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people.” Matt 4:23-24

Every Scripture is God-breathed (given by His inspiration) and profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction of error and discipline in obedience, [and] for training in righteousness (in holy living, in conformity to God’s will in thought, purpose, and action), So that the man of God may be complete and proficient, well fitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Tim 3:16-17 AMP

Zoe’s school of life is designed to give you the knowledge that you need to break out of cycles of the defeat. The Word says, “My  people are destroyed because of lack of knowledge”. Here at Zoe’s School of Life we bring knowledge and experience so that you don’t have to start from scratch, but you can stand on the shoulders of our collective knowledge and experience to reach the very highest God has called you to be. We believe God that the following verse will come to past in your life

“For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live]. “ Eph 2:10 AMP

APPLICATION

“And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and HEALING all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people”. Matt 4:23-24

“ And daily in the temple, and in every house, they did not cease teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ.” Acts 5:42 NKJV

At Zoe City Church “you’re not just a number but your part of the family”. We also realize that you cannot “mass-produce” disciples. Our church is not a factory but a family growing together into the dream of God! Family Care Groups provide a B.M.W. “Jesus class” system of building lasting fruit.  B– Build relationships: No person should be alone in this journey of faith. M.– “Make disciples”: We are called of God to reproduce fruit in the Kingdom of God. Every believer should make disciples of the Lord Jesus. W– Winning the lost is the great passion of our heavenly Father. God so love the world that he gave Jesus to die for our sins and provide a way to come boldly to the throne of grace and find help in our time of need. People today are hurting and crying out for help. Family Care Groups is the answer to that cry!

Zoe City Family Church History

Zoe City Family Church is a place called “There”, where dry places become an oasis producing bountiful fruit in a barren land. Zoe is a place where you meet God. A place where you belong to a family. A place where God makes us whole. A place where we live life according to the design of the Father God. A place where we reproduce both a natural and spiritual breed of Christian of a different type for three generations. We pursue this quest until we reach our maximum potential because “That’s the God kind of life!

The Beginning

Zoe City Family Church began in the heart of Pastor John Posey. It was Pastor Posey’s desire to build a church as a family with the heart and compassion to impact the world for Jesus Christ. The strategy from the very beginning was to develop leaders, who through the working together as a community of faith, would impact their world one family at a time. We call this “The God Kind of Life”, or life as God designed it to be. God designed life to be bountiful instead of barren, fruitful instead of fruitless. With Jesus as the source and center of your life, success is inevitable. Armed with this vision, Pastor John, along with his wife (Sandra), and three daughters, conducted their first service in their apartment with one other family.

Zoe City Family Church began to add new members, which lead them to move into the Clubhouse of their apartment complex, then to a daycare center. As Zoe continued to grow in membership, it was necessary to move into a building on Jackson Parkway. It was there that Pastor Posey began to lay the foundation of leadership. Zoe has continued to increase in membership and in the knowledge of how to build a sense of family and community. It was through this process that Pastor Posey saw the need to expand his understanding of marketplace ministry. Without business leadership, the church could never truly impact its community and the world. With this in mind, Pastor Posey, along with the Zoe Family, acquired 13.5 acres of real estate on Veterans Memorial Highway.

After many years of continual education and mentorship, Pastor Posey developed a six- point strategy to fulfill the overall vision.

1) Build Family Altars: Families must pursue a consistent spiritual life in order to have a solid moral foundation.

2) Build Faith: It is unshakable positive faith and expectation of good things to come that provide the necessary motivation to move forward regardless of obstacles.

3) Build Relationship: Relationship is the key to advancing any dream. Relationship— with one another and other communities—is a critical component of achieving lasting results. To believe that any organization can achieve its goals without partnership, collaborations, and synergic alliances is both arrogant and naive. If there is anything that Pastor Posey has learned over the years is the power of partnership! Conflict will come, but the “vision is bigger than any issue”. Deal with the issues, but stay the course!

4) Build Systems and Technologies: In order to advance any community, it must
embrace systems and technology—systems of personal development and continual education. Technology is moving at a very rapid rate, and if the Zoe Family is to impact generations, it must stay ahead of the curve.

5) Build Communities: A church is not effective if its only concern is for its members. The members must be inspired through its services and ministries to provide leadership in the communities OUTSIDE the church in order to make a lasting transformational impact for generations to come. (Special NOTE: This has probably been one of the greatest challenges of the 21 years of Zoe’s history. Finding the right people, who are not only concerned about their personal welfare, but also understand the purpose of healing and restoration, is to tell your story to the masses and become servant leaders to the community at large. Today, we have found those people and for us, the best is yet to come!)

6) Build an Economic Base: Zoe has learned through many trials that building a vision off of a single income stream proves to be ineffective over the long term. The time for a church on every corner has come to an end. Now it is time to build a business on every corner. This will provide jobs and opportunities for our youth. It will also create a culture of entrepreneurship in our community. Teaching men how to fish is the only way to build generational wealth.

The Milestones

1990-1992 Developing the Vision

1991-1998 Developing Leadership Systems

1998-2002 Acquiring Property

2000-2005 Developing Community Outreach

2005-2010 Developing Business Training

2009-Present Developing Male Mentoring

Today Zoe is in position for explosive growth. This is due to the depth in leadership as a culture within the Zoe Family. When you understand that raw leadership is what builds a community instead of the shallow impact of a charismatic personality, then you will truly understand what Pastor Posey has been building for 21 years.

Releasing our Leadership Team

We are now seeing not just one leader in the Zoe Family, but a team of leaders. It is a wonderful sight and a significant achievement! With Pastor Posey at the helm, leading this vision and this awesome team, nothing will be impossible.

The Future

In Zoe’s near future we see a Business Incubator, a Family Life Center, a Cultural Arts Center, and the acquisition of additional land. We will build mixed-use facilities in order to encourage businesses to provide goods and services for the communities around our property.

We hope you will decide to join our quest, bringing your skills and expertise, to make us more effective in the days ahead! As Captain Jean Luc Piccard would say, “Commander LaForge…Engage!”
